Our services for adults include high speed Internet access for job searching, free noncredit Microsoft Office 2010 computer classes (Windows 7, Word for Résumés, Basic Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook), labor market information, access to a representative from the New York State Department of Labor, fax machine, phones to call employers, copier, résumé paper, free postage for correspondence with employers, and an extensive Clothing Boutique of donated men’s and women’s business clothes for individuals who need clothes for work. We also have many career development, résumé, and job search workshops taught by our college-credentialed staff, including CHOICES & Plan Your Education, the Art of the Cover Letter, Posting Your Resume Online, Creating an Elevator Speech & Branding Statement, Interview Skills, Vets’ Benefits workshops, instruction on how to get the most out of LinkedIn, and more. Most services are universal and are available to anyone looking for work, to upgrade from their current job, or looking to develop skills for a different job, although some programs may have additional eligibility requirements, such as Trade Act and training grants.
