How to File for Unemployment in Nevada

Nevada splits its unemployment system in two: DETR runs the program, but you actually file and manage your claim through a separate login called Claimant Self Service (CSS).    Sign up for a CSS account

   Register for Nevada's Claimant Self Service system — this is a separate login from other Nevada state accounts, so first-timers need a new profile.

   File your claim online

   Once inside CSS, choose the option to file a new unemployment insurance claim and work through the application.

   Verify your identity

   Nevada requires you to confirm who you are, either directly with DETR or through an approved outside identity-verification partner, before benefits can be paid.

   Watch for your debit card or set up direct deposit

   If you don't choose direct deposit, Nevada pays through a Way2Go prepaid debit card, so watch your mail for it.
